Large brutalist wooden sculpture depicting a “porcupine”. This sculpture is unfinished and the last one made by Roland Lavianne (1948-2022). During the visit of the workshop this sculpture was still on the sculpture workbench and suspended by a cable to move it on the workbench with a winch. Height 120cm x width 70cm x depth 130cm. Acquired directly from the artist's family by @igmarstuer and @pschantiques. Simplifying forms to the extreme, Roland LAVIANNE develops a powerful game of volumes, shapes, lines, using light as a building material. Roland LAVIANNE translates a real mastery of the balance of volumes and lines of force, the characters, motionless and dynamic, seem to weave a theatrical conversation forever suspended.
