Large metal abstract construction by the Belgian artist Paul Van Gyseghem (1935). Dimensions H 125cm x B 140cm x D 90cm. Van Gyseghem is an important sculptor with works in the collection at the SMAK museum in Ghent. The human figure and mythological themes are particularly inspiring in Van Gyseghem’s sculpture. The ascending-descending, ascending-radiating oppositions, hardness-tenderness, daydreams-tragedies took shape in movements of opposite threads and perpendicular constructions of his sculptures and in particular the one presented here.
